Regulatory Comments
The U.S. and E.U. governments generally invite comments from interested or impacted parties when they are developing new regulations or making modifications to existing regulations. The World Shipping Council routinely submits comments regarding regulations that might impact the liner shipping industry.
United States
Comments are submitted to the federal government department or agency that is issuing the regulation. Such comments are a matter of public record. See this page for a complete listing of all comments submitted by the WSC to the relevant U.S. regulatory body.
European Union
Regulations that apply to all countries in the European Union are issued by the European Commission. See this page for formal comments submitted by the WSC to the European Commission.
International
International rules generally come about through treaty agreements. Any comments that the WSC might have contributed during the development of some of these agreements can be found under the relevant subject in the Industry Issues section of the website.
