Tom Crowley Jr. assumed responsibility for his family's business in 1994 when he became the company's CEO at the age of 27. Since taking over the leadership of the company, Mr. Crowley has worked to expand and position the company for success in the 21st Century, focusing on growth as it relates to the company's expertise on water, while leveraging new opportunities in other business areas.

Mr. Crowley began his maritime career at 16, when he worked as a ticket collector for the company's San Francisco passenger service, the Red and White Fleet. He continued working for the company in a number of positions while attending college and then entered Crowley Maritime's management training program. He spent the two years preceding his appointment as CEO, as head of the company's Red and White Fleet.

Mr. Crowley is a member of the board of directors of the World Shipping Council. He is a graduate of the University of Washington and holds a business degree in finance.

Crowley Maritime Corporation is headquartered in San Francisco, California and is wholly and privately owned by the Crowley family and Crowley employees. It generates over USD 1.5 billion in annual revenues by providing diversified transportation services in domestic and international markets by means of five operating lines of business: Liner Services, Logistics, Marine Services, Petroleum Services and Technical Services.

The company employs approximately 4,100 people and provides its services using a fleet of mare than 210 vessels, consisting of RO/RO (roll on roll off) vessels, LO/LO (lift on lift off) vessels, tankers, tugs and barges.
