
2025 PNWER Annual Summit
WSC’s CEO Joe Kramek will be a speaker at the 'Session 10: Keynote Lunch: Global Trade, Ports and Supply Chains - Navigating a True Course in Turbulent Waters’ at 12:15 PM – 1:30 PM on the 22nd July 2025. Global shipping consolidations, port acquisitions and an initiative to place fees on Chinese shipping will impact Northwest imports and export supply chains through PNWER global gateways.
Legislators, business leaders, academics, and policymakers from the U.S. and Canada will gather in Bellevue, Washington for the PNWER's 34th Annual Summit from July 20-24 to discuss regional economic best practices and trade concerns. Throughout the event, discussions will highlight groundbreaking innovations and explore how the region can harness emerging technologies to tackle key challenges and drive future growth. It will be an opportunity to engage with our region's key decision makers on both sides of the border.

IMO CCC11
WSC is participating in the upcoming IMO CCC11 from the 8th - 12th September 2025 in London, UK.
The Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) deals with the carriage of packaged dangerous goods, solid bulk cargoes, bulk gas cargoes, and containers. The Sub-Committee keeps updated the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code (IMSBC Code) and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. It also keeps under review other Codes including the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code) and the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC Code). The Sub-Committee closely collaborates with other UN bodies dealing with the multimodal transport of goods.

Green Shiptech China Congress 2025
In September, WSC’s Director for Environment and Safety, John Bradshaw, will deliver a keynote address at ‘the 14th Annual Event: Green Shiptech China Congress 2025' in Shanghai, China.
This event will bring together over 400 industry experts, corporate decision-makers, and government officials for in-depth discussions on key issues and policies from the IMO, EU, USCG, and China MSA. Topics will include regulatory developments, new ship design standards, and innovative, sustainable technologies shaping the future of green shipping.

Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference
WSC CEO Joe Kramek will participate as a panelist at the 'Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference’, taking place in Limassol from 6–8 October 2025. This year’s event, themed "Unlocking the Future... of Shipping," will focus on the key opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the global maritime industry.
The conference will bring together a distinguished lineup of speakers, including the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, EU Commissioners, and the Presidents from maritime associations. Leading shipowners, maritime innovators, and industry leaders from around the world will also take part in discussions on critical issues facing the sector.

The IMO's MEPC ES.2
The WSC Environmental and Climate team will participate in the IMO’s MEPC Extraordinary Session in October 2025, where member states are expected to adopt amendments based on the recently agreed measures from MEPC 83. These include a new fuel standard for ships and a global emissions pricing mechanism, forming part of a legally binding framework to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from international shipping, with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Hong Kong Maritime Week 2025
WSC is speaking at the ninth 'Hong Kong Maritime Week’ in China from 16 to 22 November 2025.
The Hong Kong Maritime Week unites and showcases the Hong Kong maritime industry as a strong cluster, raises the community’s awareness of the economic contributions of Hong Kong’s maritime and port industries, and promotes Hong Kong as a preferred base for maritime business. International and local industry luminaries and practitioners will participate in various physical, online and/or hybrid activities ranging from conferences and seminars, ceremony to maritime-themed visits, tours and competition.

6th Decarbonizing Shipping Forum 2025
WSC’s Jim Corbett is speaking at the ‘6th Decarbonizing Shipping Forum 2025’ from the 25th - 26th June in Hamburg, Germany.
This pivotal event will delve into the latest breakthroughs, opportunities, and challenges in maritime decarbonization, with a strong focus on shaping the future of sustainable shipping. The Forum offers a comprehensive platform for maritime experts, innovators, and policymakers to share their experiences, insights, and strategies for navigating the complex journey toward zero-emission shipping.

The IMO's MSC 110
WSC’s Saftey and Security team will participate in the ‘Maritime Safety Committee (MSC 110)’ that deals with all matters related to maritime safety and maritime security which fall within the scope of IMO, covering both passenger ships and all kinds of cargo ships. This includes updating the SOLAS Convention and related codes, such as those covering dangerous goods, life-saving appliances and fire safety systems.
The MSC also deals with human element issues, including amendments to the STCW Convention on training and certification of seafarers. The MSC has a wide range of issues on its current agenda, including goal-based standards, autonomous vessels, piracy and armed robbery against ships, cyber security and e-navigation.

United Nations Ocean Conference, Nice France 2025
WSC is participating at the the high-level ‘2025 United Nations Conference’ to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development (the 2025 UN Ocean Conference) will be held in Nice, France, from 9 – 13 June 2025, co-hosted by France and Costa Rica.
The overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. The Conference, comprising an opening segment, ten plenary sessions, ten Ocean Action Panels and a closing segment, aims to support further and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and means to support the implementation of SDG 14. It will build on existing instruments to form successful partnerships towards the swift conclusion and effective implementation of ongoing processes that contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean.

Blue Economy & Finance Forum
WSC is participating at the UNOC’s ‘Blue Economy and Finance Forum’ on June 7 - 8, 2025 in Monaco.
The forum will gather experts, policymakers, investors and innovators from around the world, the Forum will highlight and promote the critical role that sustainable investment, cutting-edge innovation, and forward-thinking policies play in ensuring the long-term health and prosperity of our oceans and economies alike. The BEFF will serve as a platform to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and showcase the latest developments in the blue economy, with a clear focus on creating a resilient and thriving ocean ecosystem that benefits present and future generations.

11th International Maritime Congress, Szczecin, Poland
WSC’s Jim Corbett and Damian Viccars are speaking at the 11th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin, Poland from the 15th - 16th May 2025.
The Forum examines the macroeconomic issues that are shaping and transforming the international shipping markets today, featuring a comprehensive review and outlook of the various shipping markets, made more relevant by the release of companies’ annual results.
The forum provides a platform for investors, financiers, cargo owners and shipowners to discuss the latest developments in the global shipping, energy and commodity markets, and financial and capital markets, as well as critical topics of the industry such as geopolitics, energy security, sanctions, access to capital, regulation, technology, innovation and more.
This year's Congress program includes the most up-to-date and important topics for this branch of the economy, including the development of infrastructure projects related to access to seaports, from the sea and land. There will be discussions about shipbuilding, offshore, inland waterways, road and rail links that are an integral part of European transport corridors.
